Outerspace are always looking for more ways to grow and become more innovative within the industry and recently organised a workshop day for our staff. We took the day off and went to beautiful Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills area. It was a lovely sunny day at the Haus of Hahndorf where we invited our staff members from our Melbourne and Manila offices. The purpose for the day was to re-group and to see where we stand as a company, really knuckle down what is our purpose, where our true talent lies and how we can move forward efficiently.
We at Outerspace want to challenge how we think and how we can align our mission and vision statements to the way we work. Having open discussions of what our mission and vision statement could be is a great start for our staff to reflect internally but for the moment we represent Outerspace by – To Create Amazing Spaces and Inspire, Excite, Design, Deliver
We had a special guest, Katheryn Curnow who has 12 years of experience working as an organisational development consultant with a focus on leadership development, coaching and culture change. She is the Director of Insync Inclusion & Diversity Consulting which specialises in working with teams and organisations to build curious, connected and collaborative workplaces. She stepped us through how different personality types can work well in a team and ways communicating with each other and how to work better with one another.
After our presentations we had a couple of activities lined up to see how people communicate and how others interpreted instructions. It wasn’t as easy as we thought. To wind down from the day we had a painting session to relax and have a bit of a laugh. Team bonding and doing something fun breaks that cycle of constantly working all day and to remind ourselves that it is also important to take a step back and reflect on the hard work that we have done.
