Bringing style, or in this case an identifiable brand identity, and substance together in the one regional centre requires vision, imagination and pragmatism. The pivotal question on this project was, how do we improve the safety and efficiency of 5 major streets and key gateways, as well as using functional aesthetics to characterise or brand the location?
Arriving at innovative solutions to improve pedestrian, cycle and vehicular flow was just part of the collaboration undertaken alongside Martins Brand House, W&G and RLB. Importantly, Outerspace contributed to the conceptual and detailed design that set this landscape and gateway project apart as a functional, local identifier that benefits the community, commuters and commercial interests.
Now, easily set apart by its use of selected ground surface materials, planting and artistic ribbons, our work with Council brought to life areas extending to Alexander Kelly Drive within the Health precinct. An exercise that ultimately delivered more pedestrian space and an air of sustainability by creating optimal conditions for tree growth.
